When you combine All-American Roads and National Scenic Byways, the Midwest has plenty of places to drive through history.
In October of 2009, 42 more roads won recognition and protection, including Michigan’s own Automotive Heritage Trail.
Although Route 66 never crossed any part of Michigan, another well known, perhaps soon-to-be famous, U.S. route bisects the middle of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula.
