Make your travels make a difference with Green Lodging Michigan

If you’re serious about staying green when you travel, you’ll want to check out Green Lodging Michigan (GLM). It’s a voluntary certification program available free of charge to Michigan travel properties who incorporate green aspects into their operations: air quality, communication/education, solid waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, purchasing and waste handling. Learn here about the features of a green travel property and find GLM properties for your next Michigan visit.

Bed & Breakfasts—southern Michigan style

Traveling to southern Michigan and need a place to stay? Check out the Southern Michigan Bed and Breakfast Association. Their website allows you to search for B&Bs by region, city, name, amenity, specials, events and attractions—and business travelers often receive discounts on weekday nights.

Strange buildings you can visit

The world is full of exotic buildings, many of which are right here in America. Want to check them out? The Village of Joy website recently featured the 100 Most Unusual Buildings in the World and you can view photos of all of them if you visit the site. Or, you can hit the road! Buildings on the list are located in Florida, Nevada, Tennessee, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Texas, Colorado, California, Alaska, North Carolina, New York, Mississippi, Michigan, Ohio and Missouri.
